About
I am a senior software engineer with nine years of experience spanning data analysis, data science and backend engineering. I work at SIXT in Munich, where I build and operate production systems for pricing and mobility products.
My background lets me work across the boundary between models and software. I enjoy taking an ambiguous commercial problem, finding a useful representation of it in data, and turning that reasoning into a reliable service that customers and other systems can depend on.
What I work on
Backend and distributed systems. I design, modernise and operate services using Java, Spring Boot, Go, AWS, Kafka, gRPC and PostgreSQL. My work covers architecture and delivery as well as the less glamorous but essential parts: observability, incident response, data integrity and production behaviour.
Data-informed product engineering. Before moving into software engineering, I worked as a data scientist on geospatial pipelines and optimisation models. I now apply that background to dynamic pricing, H3-based geospatial modelling, demand forecasting, backtesting and A/B testing. I am particularly interested in making analytical ideas useful under real production constraints.
Applied AI. I build practical AI tools for engineering work, including agents that help design and analyse Statsig A/B tests and refine backend tickets. I care less about adding AI for its own sake than about whether a tool removes friction and becomes useful to people beyond its creator.

- Gatekeeping is an enterprise headcount-planning and approval system built with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL, including role-based access, audit history and reporting.
- Shopping Cart is a full-stack e-commerce platform built with Java 21, Spring Boot, React and PostgreSQL, with production-oriented security and automated testing.
- Job Grader implements the point-factor method for evaluating and comparing job roles in a browser-based Svelte and TypeScript application.
How I got here
I first became interested in programming through the modding community around Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. An online multiplayer modification exposed a Lua scripting API, and the idea that software could let people extend a game into something entirely new fascinated me. That curiosity led me towards open-source software, then through data analysis and data science, and eventually into backend engineering. It was not a straight path, but the combination still shapes how I solve problems today.
